Autonomic symptoms can occur in people with EDS and HSD. These may include dizziness, palpitations, exercise intolerance, temperature regulation problems and feeling faint when standing. POTS is one possible diagnosis, but similar symptoms can have many causes. A clinician may need to assess heart rate, blood pressure, medicines, hydration, anaemia and other factors before deciding what is happening. Treatment should be based on a confirmed clinical assessment rather than self-diagnosis from symptoms alone.
