Sleep problems are reported by many people living with EDS and HSD. Pain, discomfort, autonomic symptoms and co-existing sleep disorders can all interfere with restorative sleep. Good sleep habits may help, but persistent sleep problems deserve assessment because treating a specific sleep disorder can be more useful than simply trying to sleep longer. This is an area where symptom diaries can sometimes help a clinician understand patterns over time.
